Acupuncture in Beenleigh

Beenleigh Mall Medical Centre offers acupuncture consultations with:

  • Dr Sai: needle acupuncture.
  • Dr Chuck Fung Kong: needle and laser acupuncture.

Your doctor will assess whether acupuncture is suitable for you and discuss other treatment options.

Needle and laser acupuncture

Needle acupuncture involves placing fine needles at selected points on the body. Laser acupuncture uses low-intensity laser light without inserting needles.

Evidence varies by condition and treatment method. Benefits are not guaranteed, and evidence for needle acupuncture does not automatically apply to laser acupuncture.

Your consultation

Your doctor will review your symptoms, medical history, medicines and previous treatments. You can discuss possible benefits, risks and alternatives before deciding whether to proceed.

Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, take blood-thinning medicines or have a bleeding disorder or reduced immunity.

Needle acupuncture can cause soreness, bruising, bleeding or dizziness. Infection and serious injury are uncommon but possible. Laser treatment also requires safety precautions, including eye protection. Your doctor will explain the risks relevant to your treatment.

Acupuncture should not delay necessary medical care or replace prescribed medicines without advice from your treating doctor.
